Interview with Madee Stecker Make Up Artistry

I love that I am able to support other amazing women entrepreneurs through Divulged. I am all about women empowering women! I had the opportunity to virtually “sit down” with our preferred Make Up Artist, Madee Stecker to learn a little more about her and the services she offers. I am so excited for you all to get to know the magician behind the make up brush at Divulged! Be sure to also give Madee a BIG, WARM HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!!!

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi beauties! Nice to meet all of you, I’m Madee! I’m a makeup obsessed mama of 2 wild boys, borderline crazy cat lady and music junkie. I love a good romantic comedy, walking around Target or TJMaxx with no intentions to buy anything (but who are we kidding, that never happens). I love tattoos and currently have lots done by some amazing female artists! Fun fact; I wanted to be a tattoo artist for such a long time. I still paint and draw all the time and it’s something I’ll always be passionate about!

How long have you been a Hair and Make Up Artist and what got you started in the field?

I’ve been a makeup artist for nearly 5 years! I started as a hair stylist with Aveda but shortly after realized my passion was makeup. I’ve always been super feminine and have always loved the creativity it allows me to have! I remember coloring my Disney princess coloring book with lipstick when I was young so I think it was destiny!

What is your favorite part of your job?

Meeting incredible people! There’s something so incredible about having a woman (or man) sit in my chair feeling not so wonderful about their bare face, and transforming them, not only physically, but mentally by giving them the biggest confidence boost! It’s an incredible feeling knowing that I had a huge part in making someone feel more beautiful than they already are.

Do you have any favorite looks or styles that you do?

Dramatic or colorful-or anything including big lashes and glitter!! But honestly, I love doing it all!

If you could only give us one make up tip, what would it be?

My favorite “tip” is to always remember that good makeup starts with good skin. Taking care of your skin from a young age is so important! It’s not always everyone’s first thought but even if you have physically good skin, I promise it can alway be better and you’d be so surprised at what a good routine can do! AND WEAR SPF EVERYDAY!

My favorite little trick is when you accidentally get mascara on your nose or cheek or underneath the eye....LET IT DRY. Let it dry and gently flake it off with a cotton swab or eyebrow spoolie! No more smeared mascara mishaps!
