Do’s and Don’ts When Preparing for a Boudoir Session

  1. DO bring a few different wardrobe options.

    • I recommend bringing 3-5 options, depending on the Experience you select. It never hurts to bring 1-2 extras if you are on the fence. Make sure the outfits you select are something you feel comfortable in and makes you feel beautiful!

    • You will also have access to the Divulged Client Closet. Be sure to bring a nude G-string thong to wear under any Client Closet pieces.

  2. DO come well rested, fed, and hydrated!

    • Please, please darlin’ DO NOT starve yourself. Be sure to drink plenty of water and get enough sleep the few days leading up to your session.

    • As a general tip, foods that are high in salt tend to cause unnecessary added bloat for most people and should be consumed at a minimum the few days leading up to your session.

  3. DO arrive to your session with a clean face and clean, DRY hair so you are ready for hair and make up if your experience includes it. If you opted out of Hair and Make Up, come photograph ready!

  4. DO have your hair, nails, and waxing done 3-5 days before your session at minimum (if you choose to do any of these) to avoid irritation.

    • Any hair that is present when you arrive, I will assume you want it there. There is no shame in choosing to be au-naturale, but I cannot photoshop out any unwanted hair.

    • While it is completely up to your discretion, I generally recommend neural or classic colored nails for a timeless look if you are having them painted,. IE: French Tipped, White, Black, Nude, Light Pink, or Red. Keep your outfit selection in mind when choosing nail color.

    • DO NOT arrive with chipped polish. Though I do keep polish remover on hand JUUUST in case you forget.

  5. DO NOT get a spray tan before your session. They may look natural in person, but will read more orange in camera. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to correct orange skin tones during retouching.

  6. DO wear loose fitting clothing and undergarments (or better yet, go commando) the day of your session to avoid lines in the skin.

  7. DO remember that nervous jitters are 100% normal! Don’t stress yourself. You are going to KILL IT! I got your back!

  8. DO speak up! Don’t hesitate to request certain poses or sets during your session! This day is all about you! I am happy to accommodate your requests to the best of my ability! Never feel embarrassed for requesting more risqué poses or wardrobe options, or nude if you want. This is a JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE!

  9. DO plan a night out on the town after your session! After all, you got all dolled up and are going to leave feeling like a million bucks! Take FULL advantage of it!

  10. DO NOT drink alcohol or stay up late the night before your session. This will show in your photos and I want you to have the best portraits possible.
