5 Ways To Stay Sexy during Social Isolation

Ok. So you have taken the recommendation to distance yourself and self isolate from others by staying home. All events and gatherings are cancelled. You are basically shunned by everyone if you step foot in public without a valid necessity. You (and the kids) are already stir crazy. What the heck are you supposed to do around here, right?!

Well, here are 5 things you can do to stay sexy in the unsexiest of circumstances!

Starting a new stretching habit can improve so many aspects of your daily life. We often sleep in weird positions through the night, so a good stretch in the morning will help loosen up tight, cramped muscles.

I love starting my day with a quick 15 minute yoga routine I found on YouTube. Starting this first thing after rolling out of bed has drastically changed my morning mood. It helps wake me up, loosen sore muscles, and give my body the movement it needs each day.

And let’s not forget! Once you are nice and limber, you can finally try that crazy sex position you saw in Kama Sutra that one time.

“BUT THE KIDS ARE HOME!” This is also a perfect activity you can get the whole family involved in! Invite your partner and kiddos in for a big living room yoga party!

You know those little samples from that box subscription you tried once or from your favorite beauty store that you have been hoarding? Well, it’s their time to shine! I don’t know about you, but I always feel my sexiest when I’m exfoliated, freshly shaven, and moisturized! Set aside some time to give yourself a full pamper.

  • Indulge in an extra long bath. Bath time isn’t just for the littles, ya’ll. Put those babes to bed, light a candle or 2, fill the tub (and your wine glass), and throw in your favorite bath bomb! BONUS If you have a jacuzzi or larger tub, make it a party for 2 and invite your partner!

  • Try a face mask! I love the Masque of Zen for my problem skin. Skin Polish will leave your face feeling smooth as butter. What better time to revive your skin just before the warmer months hit!

BUT THE KIDS ARE HOME - Yea. I get it. Things are tough with littles running around and nowhere to expend their energy. Find a recipe online for home-made bath bombs and let the kiddos help you create your zen evening. They will love the opportunity make a craft and learn in the process. You get to reap the benefits of your hard work with a bath later. A quick Pinterest search lead me to these awesome Shower Steamers that are perfect to relieve symptoms of cold and congestion. Couldn’t hurt!

Never got around to finishing 50 Shades of Grey? Trust me, the book is better. Now is the time. If you are looking for a new series with a similar vibe, try the Crossfire Novels by Sylvia Day. What other guilty pleasure books can you discover online?

BUT THE KIDS ARE HOME - I love apps like audible so I can listen to books while completing other tasks. The kids don’t need to know you are listening to a raunchy story in your ear while folding laundry or at the grocery store. It makes it all feel a little more mysterious and naughty, right?

I truly believe music is so powerful in adjusting our mood. When you are feeling down, and the right song puts it into words you haven’t been able to, you can instantly feel at peace that you are not alone. I love how I can be in the worse possible mood and the second my favorite song comes on, I start humming and dancing along without even realizing it. If you don’t have a sexy playlist that puts you in the mood, create one now! I use this one on Spotify for all of my sessions and add to it constantly!

BUT THE KIDS ARE HOME - Make a playlist for them to! Get them involved! What are their favorite songs? An afternoon dance party is the perfect opportunity to get some movement in during the day and burn off any extra energy they have. It NEVER hurts to “SHAKE IT OFF” midday everyday! Dancing and singing can instantly boost a sour mood. BONUS If you have an Alexa, or similar home assistant tool, make sure she is programed so your littles can request their playlist when they want!

Now that you have completed some of the above ideas, I imagine you are feelin’ a little friskier. You know that sex toy you bought on a particularly daring day, only to store it in a box or drawer? Dust that baby off! Maybe give it a little lysol action? Grab your partner and give it a shot! If you discover it’s not for you after all, that’s ok. Be open to trying new things and get comfortable talking about uncomfortable things with your partner. COMMUNICATE! Some things won’t work out the way you intended, but that is half the fun. Learn how to laugh it off and move along to the next thing to try. This little gem of a device is stirring up quite the chatter in the Facebook VIP group! These are very tough and uncertain times. We are all in this together. Reach out to your friends and check up on them. Schedule a time to FaceTime your family and friends or set up a Zoom hang out to combat feelings of loneliness. Don’t hoard toilet paper, sanitizer, or fooD, we all need some.

But most importantly, STAY SAFE. STAY HEALTHY. STAY SEXY.
