Virtual Boudoir Studio Tour - The Dressing Room
“Make sure every square inch is camera ready.”
That was the motto of this renovation and the dressing area was certainly no exception to this rule. I knew I wanted a beautiful space for clients to get dolled up before their photoshoot and I LOVE how this space came together.
THE DRESSING ROOM
But first - how about a look at what we started with here.
I hadn’t planned on using this dusty lavender color in the studio [Fig Preserves by Behr if you are interested]. To be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure WHAT colors I wanted to use. After gathering a huge handful of random color swatches, I kept feeling drawn to this one in particular and it became a main hue for the House of Divulged rebrand. I then came across this floral paper I had in my craft stash and fell in LOVE with the aesthetic! It was a huge inspiration for all of our color choices and helped tie everything together.
THE INSPIRATION
I wanted a solution to be able to display accessories and styled outfits but still be versatile enough to keep up with my love of change. This DIY pegboard wall was perrrrfect! It was not my first time building one of these walls. I used this shelf method for my vintage booth at Bella Patina as well. It made for a fun father daughter bonding project once again! I love that I can move the shelves around as needed and can beautifully display my collection of heels for the closet and other various accessories for clients.
THE VIBE
All things girlie and fun! I loved the idea of creating a “jewelry box aesthetic” with monochrome walls, curtains, and rugs. Almost like you are the little ballerina twirling in top of your box of sparkly things. Not only do we use this nook to get ready but it also makes a FANTASTIC set for your experience. I love an over the top glamorous look for this set. Pile on the body chains and glittery things!
