Frequently Asked Questions about a Boudoir Session

Often times, after someone inquires about booking a Boudoir Photography Experience with me, I get asked a variation of the same types of questions. Here is a little guide to help clarify some of the common things I am asked.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. How much does a session cost?

    •   The amount that is invested in a session ultimately depends on what you are hoping to get from the experience, but I find on average my clients invest approximately $850 when it is all said and done. The Experience fees start at $100 and products start at $500.

  2. I’m ready to book my session! What’s next?

  3. I’m older than/not as thin as the girls I see on your site. Can you still make me look good?

    • ABSOLUTELY! Are you kidding me?! I fully believe everyBODY is beautiful and worth being photographed and celebrated! Divulged aims to showcase a diverse group of body types, skin tones, backgrounds, genders, and sexual preferences. We are an all-inclusive photography studio. This is a safe, judgment free space open to everyone. You will leave feeling beautiful and confident!

  4. What is your refund policy?

    • Sessions may be cancelled up to 30 days in advance for a 50% refund of the Experience Fee. Due to the planning that is involved and ability to reschedule your date, refunds will not be granted past 30 days in advance. Due to the custom nature of the products, all product orders are final and no refunds will be given. All images and album designs will be pre approved before the order is placed to ensure you are happy with your purchase. All products are checked for quality by me personally once received before they are delivered to you to ensure they meet my standards.

  5. Can I reschedule?

    • Divulged allows 1 reschedule of your session should something come up preventing you from making your session date.

  6. Where do the sessions take place?

    • Sessions take place in airBNB rentals until my In-Home studio in Levasy, MO is ready. It is located just off 24 Hwy about 5 minutes from Buckner or 10 minutes outside of Oak Grove. I also offer in home sessions.

  7. Can I bring a friend with me?

    • In general, I prefer to work 1 on 1 with my clients. I have found that often times having an additional person there watching can increase nerves and prevent clients from really letting go and enjoying the experience. I do understand, though, that sometimes a friend is preferred. I will allow 1 friend to tag along. Significant others are not allowed.

  8. Do I provide my own lingerie or do you provide it?

    • Both! Many of my clients opt for a combination of their own lingerie paired with pieces or accessories from the Divulged Client Closet. We will discuss Client Closet availability while we plan your shoot to ensure you are prepared with a wardrobe selection to best flatter your figure!

    • *Note*A nude or black G string thong must be worn under any pieces borrowed from the Client Closet for sanitary purposes. All borrowed garments are professionally washed after the session.

  9. What about hair and make up?

    • Professional hair and make up is available for every session either as part of the Experience you select or as an add on. Make up appears differently in photos than it does in person. For camera, make up should be applied slightly heavier than everyday wear. Therefore, unless you have experience applying make up for photography, we recommend opting in for professional hair and make up. Plus, who doesn’t love to be fully pampered?

  10. Have cellulite/stretch marks/acne. Can you get rid of it?

    • As a general rule of thumb, my retouching style follows the guideline - “if it would be gone in 2 weeks, I will retouch it out".

    • All of your selected images will be lightly retouched, including light skin softening. I want to make sure you look like your best self on your best day. Most acne, cellulite, and stretch marks can be removed completely or significantly lightened depending on severity.

    • That being said, I believe every woman of every shape and size deserves to be photographed and celebrated. I will make wardrobe suggestions based on what will flatter your body most and pose you in a way to make you look incredible. I will not “Photoshop” you to a different size. Part of my mission in shooting boudoir is to promote and encourage self-love. I cannot accomplish that by showing you images that are no longer “you.”

  11. I’m not sure what products I want to order. Can I decide that later?

    • You betcha’! The only amount that is due up front is the Experience fee during the time of booking. We will meet again 2-3 weeks after your session date for the in-person reveal and ordering appointment. During this appointment you will see your images for the first time, select your favorites, and order the products of your choosing!

    • My goal is to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. I will never pressure you to buy something you won’t truly enjoy. Instead, we will discuss your goals for the finished products and I will make suggestions based on your intended use.

  12. Will my photos be on the internet?

    • Only if you want them to be. During the In Person reveal and ordering appointment you will be presented with an image release form. This form will give you the opportunity to select your sharing preferences. There will be options to share all, some, or none of your images. This is 100% a pressure free decision. I hold model calls to ensure I keep fresh, shareable content so that my clients never feel pressured to share their own images. Some, however, are so excited about their session and new found confidence that they can’t wait for me to share them with the world!

    • Your privacy is my #1 concern. If you choose not to share any of your images, me and you will be the only eyes that ever see them. (And anyone you personally choose to share with obvs)

As always, if you have any other questions or need clarification, do not hesitate to reach out to me! I am more than happy to answer any questions you have!
