She Did It For Herself | Kansas City Boudoir Photographer
I am so excited to share this next session with you all. I went to high school with Kendra and always admired her bubbly attitude and kindness to everyone. Kendra was the type of girl that always got along with everyone - no matter “group” you were from. I was more than thrilled when she took the plunge and booked a shoot for herself to regain her confidence and celebrate a recent weight loss.
I absolutely love when clients decide to book a session solely to celebrate themselves. Sure, they make excellent gifts, and why not pick a product and make it a 2-fer if you can. But ultimately, I find women get SO MUCH MORE out of this experience than they ever imagined. Think of it like a vacation from your inner critic. You will leave the session on cloud nine and realize how incredibly amazing you truly are. I mean - HECK - you did they damn thing - that thing that scared the crap out of you - and you KILLED IT!

Living Room Set - I almost always recommend this set, especially if it’s your first session. We usually start the session here. It’s a comfortable set to warm up to the camera with and the light is always stunning on every single client. While almost any color wardrobe will look amazing in the living room due to its versatility and minimal color pallet, I really love dark colors like jewel tones or black particularly here. Kendra paired this lace romper from the Client Closet with her own strapless black bra.
Clawfoot Tub Set - We actually tried something a little different than I normally do for this set by adding in my dark floral backdrop as a curtain. I really love the feminine touch it adds and the way the light shines through just slightly. The light from the 3 tall windows in the studio is phenomenal and will really make your eyes pop! If you saw my post a few weeks ago then you know I am obsessed with Emerald anything, so I was more than thrilled that Kendra paired this emerald bodysuit from the Client Closet for this set. The gold lace body chain added a perfect glam touch.
White Sheet Bed Set - The bedroom set is another classic choice that I highly recommend. I mean boudoir literally translates to bedroom so it makes a lot of sense. I have [currently] 4 different sheet color choices for the bedroom set - white, black, burgundy, and royal blue - and you really can’t go wrong with any of them! For the bedroom set, Kendra opted to go for Implied nude - YAS GIRL! I will never pressure a client to try nude/implied but I HIGHLY recommend it. I generally start the set in an outfit and work our way down to nude - so it’s like you are getting 2 looks for 1! For this set, Kendra opted to go more for a more casual cutie vibe and selected this grey cotton bodysuit from the Client Closet!
Pieces of Me - Ok. Technically this isn’t a set. It’s a pose flow that can be added to any of your selected sets. I love including these detail images to capture every inch of your beauty. The human body is a miraculous machine and all of its parts and our bumps and bruises help tell the story of who we are. This detail grid is the perfect way to preserve the parts that make you, well, YOU!
