There are 3 Types of Boudoir Clients | Kansas City Boudoir Photographer

I have 3 different types of clients. [I’m generalizing here obviously but just go with me.]

The first type of client has no idea how they want their boudoir experience to look - they just know they are excited [and nervous] to come in and have the experience! As far as sets and outfits go, they have NO CLUE what they want. AND THAT’S TOTALLY OK! I will ask a few follow up questions to get a feel for your style and make suggestions on what I recommend. [ hint it ALWAYS includes the bed set.] We will try on outfits together after hair and make up to make our final selections. AND AGAIN - I will give you suggestions on what I think looks best and with what set. Didn’t have any outfits to bring - the closet’s got you covered!

The second type of client is my girl Lindsay! These clients are just as excited about the creative planning process as they are the experience itself. They’ve been day dreaming about their favorite sets for months - maybe even years - imaging all of the wardrobe combinations they’ll wear. Once they book in, they are immediately on the hunt for the perfect outfits. They bring in items to incorporate to personalize the set and make it feel more “them.” I love a babe that knows what they want! Take the reigns, honey, this day is about YOU!

The last client is somewhere in between. They have a few ideas and might have one or 2 things picked out ahead of time but are unsure about the rest. They may have a favorite set of lingerie that they feel confident in and a couple items they picked up but aren’t totally sold on yet. This is pretty typical. We will talk it out and try on your outfits before we get started and make our final selections.

Technically there’s a 4th type of client. This is their 5th time in the studio and at this point we are just mixing sets up to get them something they haven’t done before. HAHAHA. Honestly, in my year 5th year in business - this is now the majority of my clients. Who knew boudoir photoshoots could be so addicting?! I am constantly tweaking sets and lighting to bring fresh looks to the studio that way if you DO want to come back in again - there’s always something new to try!

Ruby Red was a BLAST to work with! This sassy red head is all about glitter and glam and maximalist style! MAXIMALISTS UNITE!!!! We spent her entire session laughing and dancing - singing along to the playlist she created for the session. I fully believe life is meant to be fun. AND THIS GAL GETS IT! Why not dance around in colorful underpants singing your heart out?! I love that she brought in her signature red lipstick and creative make up looks to compliment her vivacious attitude towards life!
