STUDIO SET SPOTLIGHT - The Black Wall | Kansas City Boudoir Photographer

I love being able to customize each clients Divulged boudoir photoshoot to match their personal style and mood. One of the ways to make your experience unique is picking which sets you want to use for your photoshoot. I photograph client sessions out of my actual home which allows me to offer a wide range of set options for your experience. And being a gal that loves change - I rearrange and make tweaks to bring a fresh feel to the sets I offer quite frequently.

The most popular - and recommended - Divulged Boudoir Experience is the Daredevil. With this session each client gets to select 3 sets to use for their photoshoot. To help answer your questions and nail down which sets are the best fit for YOUR experience, I am dedicating an entire blog series putting each set option in the spotlight! While some tweaks are made to the set quite frequently the main feel and vibe of the set stays the same. In this series I will cover the overall vibe of the set and what I love about it!

The next set in the Studio Set Spotlight is the most perfect classic studio set - The Black Wall Set!

THE BLACK WALL SET

THE VIBE

The Black Wall set is oh so versatile ya’ll. We can really go to town and customize this set to match the vibe you are after. The basic elements of this set are the black wall, grid windows, and the concrete floors making it the perfect minimal classic studio portrait set. I love the clean modern lines and industrial feel of this corner.

By bringing in other elements, we can quickly change up the look of this set. I love bringing in the old, paint chipped ladder, lush green plants, and other furniture to instantly add texture and interest.

WHY I LOVE IT

I mentioned a few key things above that I love about the black wall set - like it’s versatility and clean, modern vibe - but I wanted to touch on a few other things I love about this set. Namely, the natural light that pours into this corner of the space.

The whole main level of my in home studio gets ample natural light from the windows lining the North wall, so really the light is good anywhere if I am being honest. I love that during sunrise and sunset the windows produce gorgeous light patterns on the floor that add interest to an image. Throughout the rest of the day, the sun provides nice even, indirect light that is ideal for naturally lit portraits. You will get a natural glow paired with dynamic side light to flatter your curves.

I also love how bold and vibrant the color in the images from this set appear. The dark black wall and ample natural light allows everything in the image to really pop and stand out.
